Culminating Project
2007-2008
Congratulations
on completing the second step of the Culminating Project!
Save the date of May 13th,
2008, for our Culminating Project Exhibition evening.
This will be a 15-20 minute
presentation.
You will make
your presentation to a panel of teachers and/or community members and your
parent/guardian[s].
→The
exhibition will start with a 15 minute overview of your work.
You will
present:
o your culminating project work (“What
did I accomplish with my culminating project?”
“What did I learn from my culminating project experience?” “How does
this direct me toward future goals in my life?”)
o your portfolio pieces and their
importance (“How do these pieces of work demonstrate who I am as a learner)
We will have
a computer/document camera/projector for you.
Many students are doing power point presentations. If you are planning to present with a power
point, please have your presentation saved on a USB drive, and make sure that
your document is compatible with our classroom presentation computers.
If you need
additional technology or equipment (piano, particular lighting, etc) please let
Ms. Campbell or Mr. Shearer know asap.
→Next, you will
answer questions and engage in a dialogue about your culminating project and
portfolio with your review committee. (5 minutes)
Students should do a “dry run” presentation in a 9th or 10th
grade mentorship. Work with your
mentorship teacher to arrange a time to do a practice presentation on one of
these dates: April 23, April 24, April
30, May 1, May 7, May 8.
Note: You will need an overall average score of 2
to pass this final portion of the Culminating Project. The Content section scores will be weighted
so that they are worth more in your final score.
