Robert Radford
Principal

For years, I have worked to improve the lives of families and children, particularly those underrepresented in our society, through a variety of public social welfare programs, and in the private sector. I was a Chemist in the Pulp and Paper Industry for 16 years, and then became an Industrial Relations manager to help desegregate a company in that same industry.
While working for St. Regis Paper Company, I also taught in the Tacoma Public
Schools over an eight-year period as a long-term substitute. For 20 years I have held a number of executive positions in the federal government, among which were Director of Presidential Scholars, Director of the Youth Development Bureau, Head Start Program in Washington DC. I have a Ph.D. in Education Administration from Washington State University. Prior to my retirement from the Seattle School District, I was principal of AE #2 and then Meany Middle School.
Following a brief two-year retirement, I began as principal of Greenwood
Elementary School.
