Academic Achievement Data

ReadingOver the last six years, the reading achievement scores for the WASL have been showing a positive trend, with a significant improvement in 2004.  This increase in scores has placed our students within the standard deviation for being equal with district standards.  Our Grade 2 reading scores on the DRA have steadily increased since 2002 to 90% in 2005.

Writing:  Over the last six years, the writing achievement scores for the WASL have fluctuated, with a significant drop in 2004; however, our scores increased 8% in 2005.   We have noted that there is a reversal of trends in our WASL writing breakdown between 2004 and 2005.  In 2004, our content and organization scores increased, while our conventions scores decreased.  In 2005, this situation was reversed.   Clearly it is important to emphasize a balanced approach between content/organization and conventions.
