Biography:
I have been a teacher for 19 years. I was born in El Salvador. My greatest wish is to help your children learn and develop successfully.
What we will study in class:
Students Hill learn how the United States and the State of Washington were founded/originated.
Students will be able to recognize and name the regions in the State of Washington and around the world.
Students will be abke to study different religions, cultures, ethnicities, political ideas found in the United States and around the world.
Students will learn about the Pacific Rim and the economic influence it has in the USA and the World.
Washington State History is taught during the first semester. This class gives 8th graders High School credits.
World Geography is taught during the second semester.
In both classes we will do research projects. We will do oral presentations. Students are expected to attend class, do their homework, be responsible to find out what they missed in case of an absence. Students need to participate in class and be respectful to others.
At the end of the school year students will know basic Geography skills and how different countries relate to the United Status. We will use different textbooks and teaching materials from the Seattle Public Library, different guest speakers, field trips and community resources.
All materials are multicultural.

Lo Que Veremos en Clase:
Los estudiantes aprenderan como se formaron los Estados Unidos y el Estado de Washington
Los estudiantes reconoceran las regions alrededor del mundo.
Los estudiantes compararan diferentes religions, culturas, etnicidades, ideas y politicas que forman a los Estados Unidos.
Los estudiantes aprenderan acerca de los paises del mundo y que influencia tienen en los Estados Unidos.
Descripcion del Curso:
Geografia se ensena durante el primer semester (Septiembre hasta Enero).
La Historia de Washington se ensena durante el Segundo semester. A passing grade in this class is a high school graduation requirement.
En ambas clases haremos proyectos e investigacion. Haremos presentaciones orales. Se espera que los estudiantes atiendan las clases, hagan las tareas, participen en clase y respeten a los invitados que nos dan presentaciones.
Al final del anio escolar sabran la geografia de los paises del mundo en relacion a los Estados Unidos y al Estdo de Washington. Tambien conoceran la historia de Wahington y los problemas contemporaneous.
Los materials ussados varian desde textos hasta materials de la biblioteca publica, presentaciones especiales, videos, libros de lectura, ensayos escritos, excursiones, etc. Todos los materials son multiculturales.
