Hi, my name is Stephanie Hunnicutt, the Family Support Worker at Dearborn Park.
This school year my goal will be to provide families and students with academic support to achieve academic excellence,
promote educational awareness and increase parent involvement.
My goal is to inform families of educational expectations
and endorse academic success in Seattle Public Schools. I'm also committed to assisting families with conquering overwhelming
challenges that prohibit student success.
Service plans will be created on an individual basis to meet the following outcomes:
- Classroom preparaton: Encourage student improvement strategies and provide supplies to enhance classroom performance.
- Homework: Provide tutoring resources, homework kids, and enrichment opportunitites.
- Students attendance: Assist with school preparation to encourage students' daily attendance.
- Mobility: Support continuous student enrollment by facilitating overall family stability.
- Suspensions: Support and supply interventions that prevent student suspensions.
- Parent/Family Involvement: Develop strategies with parents to increase parent involvement and provide school information pertaining to Seattle School District's educational structure.
- Support families social service requests to encourage children to be ready to learn: Provide community information and resources for clothing, shoes, food, medical/dental/vision insurance, and housing stabilization.
As a team, we can collectively promote successful academic achievement in order to enhance the future of our children.
The Family Support Worker Program is implemented and supported through a partnership between the Families and Education Levy, the City of Seattle, United Way and the Seattle Public Schools.
