Our teachers have been specially trained in Project Wild environmental curriculum to use the woods and wetlands on our campus as a classroom. We have partnerships with a number of community organizations that encourage and help facilitate environmental learning and stewardship. (See Community Partnerships for a complete listing.)
Starflower volunteers facilitate service learning projects for our students to clear invasives and replace them with donated native plants. Students also learn about Native American uses of the plants found in our forest. Audubon volunteers come to our school with great hands-on lessons for our kids, who love to be outdoors both learning and having fun!
