Dearborn Park Dance Troupe
Dearborn Park has four major performances during the year. Festival of Lights, Lunar New Year, African American / Diversity Assemblies and the Multicultural Dinner. During these performances the dancers learn routines that express the theme of that celebration.
Festival of Lights includes winter holiday songs and dances from around the world.
Lunar New Year performances involves
the Lion Dance and other dances of China and Vietnam celebrating
the coming of Spring.
The African American Assembly and Diversity Assemblies feature dances from Africa and other cultures.
The Multicultural Dinner features several dances from the Phillipines, Vietnam, China, and Africa.
Mrs. Zhou includes dances from the major cultural groups represented at Dearborn Park, so the children see their own cultures reflected in their dances.
