Annamarie DeFranco - ansmitdefranco@seattleschools.org
Hi, I am Mrs. DeFranco in the Resource room! My classroom is a place where students can work on areas that are extra challenging for them in their regular classroom. We work in small groups and one to one to find ways that help students understand better and feel successful. I believe that all students can be successful.
Learning can be done in many modalitites and styles and can be fun too! Every student needs to try, and the greater they try the bigger their gains.
I want the family at home to show interest about what their child did that day at school, ask questions and probe about what went on. Secondly I would want the family to help with homework as much as possible and read together every day.
Mrs. Courtney Hebert - crhumphrey@seattleschools.org
My name is Courtney Hebert and my classroom is multi-age with students who are in third, fourth and fifth grade. I provide individualized instruction to meet the unique needs of each of my students.
My teaching philosophy is based on my belief that a child has the greatest learning potential when they feel safe and respected in their environment.
The most important thing a parent, family member or guardian can do with their child is to read with them every day. Being informed and involved in a child's education sends a message to that child that their academic success is valued.
