School is a great adventure away from home for children. We want to make every child's experience an exciting and successful one, and we have the resources at Dearborn Park Elementary to do just that: a vibrant, multicultural neighborhood; highly qualified teachers; cutting edge, research-based instruction, including a program for advanced learners; a beautiful campus; and strategic partnerships with a wide variety of community organizations. Our aim is to provide for every child in our care both a basic foundation for education and the enriched educational experiience of our widely acclaimed environmental science and performance arts programs--all in a safe, nuturing environment.
The Dearborn family is one of the old pioneering families of Seattle. Land for Dearborn City Park and Dearborn Park Elementary School was donated by this family. Our new building project was completed the summer of 2006. Included in this amazing remodel is a cafeteria, auditorium, six additional classrooms, and a child care facility. Students are enjoying their new classrooms, and we finally have a stage for our music program and our PE program. Whitworth Elementary has now merged into our building.
