Welcome to Fourth Grade
In 4th grade, students are expected to master the basic (addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division) facts. Students should read 20-30 minutes
each night, complete the weekly homework assignments. In addition, students
are expected to come to school organized, well-rested, and prepared to
learn.
The fourth graders at Concord are taught by two seasoned teachers,
Mr.Hunt and Ms. Kolling.
Mr. Hunt has been teaching in the Seattle School District for over twenty
years. He has taught third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders. He has taught
at Sacajawea Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School and Concord. In
his early years, he also had the opportunity to be a substitute teacher
at a variety of schools all over the city. Mr.Hunt enjoys an active life
style, which includes hiking, gardening, and biking. You may even catch
him biking to Concord.
Ms. Kolling has been teaching for nearly twenty years for the Seattle
School District. The majority of her time was spent teaching third, fourth,
and fifth grades at John Hay Elementary. However, she joined the the Concord
teaching staff in 2001, and has been enjoying working with the South Park
Community. When she is not teaching, Ms. Kolling enjoys shopping, reading,
and watching sporting events. Mr.Hunt and Ms. Kolling work collaboratively
to create a safe, engaging learning environment for their students.
