Maya Profiles: pens, tempura, construction paper

Art Learning: Students looked at the Maya illustrations that glorified the profile& the flat forehead they preferred. After creating a profile - they added a head dress and cut it out of the gray paper. This was placed on the manilla - a middle-value also. With both dark & light paint & hieroglyphic drawing, they created the rich Mayan texture & visual interest.
