Title: Guatemalan Weaving

Project: The ancient tradition of backstrap weaving is passed down from mother or grandmother to girls between the ages of 7 or 8. For the typical woman in the villages of Guatemala weaving becomes a ritual part of daily life. To weave traditional hupil (blouse) may take two to three months.
