Late in the school year 2001-2002 Julia Bolz visited a few classrooms at Coe to share her experiences in Afghanistan and her dream to build a school for girls. The following school year she returned to share that dream with all of our students and asked them to partner with her. Since that time our students have raised money every year through a myriad of innovative strategies and sacrificial giving and just as importantly we have exchanged artwork, pictures and stories as we have sought to understand and be understood. That first school has led to more than 13 more and the first school serving 400 girls now has over 1000 students.

This has been an amazing Journey With An Afghan School. As the principal of Coe I believe this has been an extremely valuable relationship and I have been very supportive of it. This year I will have an opportunity to visit Afghanistan, see the school and meet the current principal for the first time. On this page links are provided to what we hope are daily updates so our students and any others interested can follow along. Welcome and thanks for joining us.
