Good morning from Kabul, Afghanistan.
As you know it is night here, a
little after 9PM right now. It has been a long time since I left Seattle on
Wednesday morning. I had a horrible flight to Chicago and a wonderful 16 hour
flight to India where I had a whole row to myself and got to stretch out and
sleep a lot, read a lot and watch movies. I stayed with night in India with the
great-uncle of Sahara Nath, a former Coe student.
Today I flew from India to Kabul
and met a man who decided I should be upgraded to Business Class, kind of like
first class, so my travels have been pretty luxurious so far. Then we got to
Kabul and landed in an unbelievable hailstorm and rainstorm. By the time I got
my two huge bags to the car the streets looked like rivers and we werenÕt sure
we could get to the house where I will stay tonight. I met Julie at the airport
and we will fly tomorrow morning to Mazare-Sharif and to visits to our school
and other schools.
I got to tell a lot of the people on my flights
about my school and our kids and what a wonderful project this. So now people
in India and Kabul know all about Coe kids. I hope everything is going great
and I hope I can get to send some pictures and video soon. Take care,
Your wandering principal,
