Terry Tempest Williams recently visited Seattle as part of the Seattle Arts and Lectures series. Because Chief Sealth is part of Writers in the Schools, students here were lucky enough to enjoy a private reading and conversation with Williams on Monday, October 6, 2008. Williams was accompanied by Louis Gakumba, a graduate student and speaker of six languages who accompanied her for part of her travels for her book and assisted with translation as she traveled.

Noah Zeichner's Global Leadership class as well as Amber Alison's 12th Grade Language Arts classes attended the presentation, which included Williams reading from her latest book, Finding Beauty in a Broken World.
