Dear Students and Parents:

Did you know that you can get HEALTH CARE at the Sealth Teen Health Center? The Health Center is located at Chief Sealth High School and is operated by Puget Sound Neighborhood Health Centers, a community health center with funding support form the City of Seattle's Families and Education Levy.

The Health Center is staffed with:

• School Nurse - Allison Enochs
• Nurse Practitioners - Lib Kratz & Lisa Krogman
• Mental Health Counselors - Katie MacDuff & George Calderon

Our center provides all the services that your family doctor provides (and more) and does so in a teen friendly setting. These services include medical check ups, routine and sports physicals, reproductive health care, treatment for acute and chronic illness, immunizations, vision/hearing screenings, dental referral, lab tests as well as education on how to live a healthy life. We also provide mental health counseling in addition to preventive education on tobacco, alcohol and other drug use, injuries and violence.

The Teen Health Center is open every day during and after school so you can be seen at a time that is convenient for your schedule. We'd love an opportunity to get to know you, answer any questions you might have and welcome you to Chief Sealth!

Stress……
Sometimes students utilize the Teen Health Center for reasons other than medical ones. At times adjusting to a new school can be difficult and stressful. Feelings of depression and anxiety can arise and prompt students to lose interest in school, experiment with drugs and alcohol and even want to harm themselves. If you or a friend are having difficulty with these feelings or are just want to talk, PLEASE contact Katie or George. We can help you to work on problem solving, coping with stress and establishing goals.
