This year the Chief Sealth girls’ volleyball team played their hardest at their games. The C-team ended their year with 3 wins and 2 losses. The JV on the other hand won 7 and lost 6; varsity won 1 game and lost 12. This year, over 30 girls came out and played volleyball. The teams had games at Sealth, West Seattle, Ingraham, Nathan Hale, Cleveland, Fraanklin, and Rainier Beach.

Apparently some players on the volleyball team thought this season didn’t go so well. Kari Sandell on Varsity said, “There was a lack of communication skills.”

Despite their losses, some of the players have next year to improve. Shigeko Calos-Nakano, on Varsity, commented, “I think next year will be better since we’ll know each other."

The captain of the JV Team, Sheilak Mao, said, “I think there can be better communication. I love volleyball and I think I’m going to play next year!”

Despite some lack of communication on the team, it seems like the volleyball team members had a lot of fun and school spirit this season.

Sui Ioane said, “We get out there, do what we’re supposed to do and have lots of fun.”

Victoria Swamy, on the JV team, thought the season went pretty well. “It was really wonderful because we had a lot of girls come out and represent our school. I think we did good as a team and we played for fun.”

Caraline Viloudaki, on C-Team “Everyone was really nice to each other and we had team spirit. Go Lady Hawks!”
