WHO can donate books?
Anyone! Parents, community members, students, family members, staff, faculty…
WHEN & WHERE can books be donated?
September - June in the Chief Sealth Library or Main Office!

WHY donate books?

  • To honor someone's: birthday, adoption day, big achievement, general excellence.
  • Because there are 900 students at Chief Sealth HS hungry to read and learn from the latest, most current non-fiction and fiction books.
  • Because the average cost of a hardcover book is $20, and the budget never stretches far enough.
  • Because the Classics wear out over time and need replacement copies.
  • Because students lose books and often can't afford to replace them.
  • Because good books ought to be shared.

    HOW to donate books?
  • Bring them in for a personal thank you.
  • Order them from an online bookseller and ship them to the Chief Sealth Library.
  • Mail them to the attention of the Sealth Library.
  • Send them with your student to deliver to the Library or Main Office.
  • Any way you can!

    WHICH books?
New books & gently used books of almost any kind!
This list contains suggestions - we will happily consider ANY book in good condition you'd like to donate. (Those titles that don't fit within our current needs will be donated to another library or needy recipient.)\
