| The
YMCA and Chief Sealth High School have partnered to create a mentoring
program for ninth grade students. We have a diverse group of upperclassmen
and City Year corps members that have committed to be a mentor to
a small group of freshmen. Each mentor has been assigned between 4
and 6 freshmen that they will be in contact with for the whole school
year. The mentors are also paired with the Flight Advisor who is overseeing
the same ninth grade students. Pairing the mentor with the Flight
Advisor will allow for more comprehensive, wrap around support for
our freshmen class. The mentors have monthly meetings with a mentor
advisor group and flight advisor, daily interactions with their ninth
graders and quarterly trainings provided by OneWorld Now!. |
