TRiO
Talent Search
South Seattle Community College
The
South Seattle Community College - TRiO Talent Search program at
Chief Sealth High School helps students to continue on to post-secondary
education after high school. This includes 4-year, 2-year, technical,
vocational, or apprenticeship programs. We assist students
with college searches, admissions applications, financial aid
applications, and scholarship searches. In addition, we provide
opportunities for TRiO Talent Search participants to visit
college campuses throughout the year.
Our field trip schedule for the 2008-09 school year includes
trips to: National College Fair, University of Puget Sound, Seattle
University, Bellevue Community College, Western Washington University,
Eastern Washington University, Central Washington University,
and South Seattle Community College.
TRiO Talent Search is free and is open to students who have
the desire to complete high school and seek further education.
Two-thirds of TRiO Talent Search participants must have families
who meet federal income guidelines and parents who have not graduated
from a four-year college. The remaining one-third of participants
do not need to meet this criteria.
