The 17th annual Bike the Bluff cycling event will be held this year on Saturday, September 6th. This popular neighborhood fundraiser gives participants the option to walk or ride a 4 or 6.5 mile loop around Magnolia, then enjoy a delicious neighborhood barbecue.
The open-course ride will begin and end at the Catharine Blaine K-8 School playground, immediately adjacent to the Pop Mounger Pool parking lot at 2535 32nd Avenue W. Same-day registration begins at 10:00 a.m., or you may register on-line at www.bikethebluff.org with payment due on the day of the ride. The course opens at 10:00 a.m. and officially closes at 2:00 p.m. You may start your ride at any time during those hours.
Last year’s Bike the Bluff attracted over 150 participants and raised over $5,000 for Catharine Blaine K-8 School. This year the money raised will provide “camperships” for the annual environmental science camps scheduled for Blaine 5th and 8th grade students.
Registration fees, which include a Bike the Bluff t-shirt, are $15.00 for persons over 12 and $10.00 for children 12 and younger. The $30.00 registration fee for a family includes two t-shirts, with additional t-shirts available for purchase on the day of the event for $10.00 each.
Sponsorships are available for members of the Magnolia business community who would like to show their support. For more information please contact Cathy Anesini cathyanesini@yahoo.com or Christine Segat bigbigyellow@comcast.net
