Passport Club
Alki participates in the Passport Club program, which is an individualized, sequential, geography program for schools. Its main purpose is to help students learn some of the world's countries over the course of a school year (and all of the world’s countries by the time they have graduated from 5th Grade). This program is also designed to meet essential district and state academic learning requirements for geography.
Each student receives their own Passport booklet at the beginning of each year, and during monthly exams they can earn stamps for assigned countries they have learned about. This is a cooperative program supported by both teachers and parents, and helps to foster curiosity and celebration of other cultures … a dearly-held priority at Alki.
