Adams PTA

Adams is very proud of its parent, staff and community involvement. An extremely active PTA provides a multitude of enriching activities and daily support. An engaging roster of after-school activities (including Spanish, drama, science, and art), field trips and outdoor education, book fair, carnival and computer equipment and maintenance are just some of the many areas made possible by PTA funding and volunteers. These PTA activities enhance the education experience, strengthen our students’ love of learning and add to the sense of belonging among the families and staff at Adams.

How do I join the PTA?

The PTA is a bargain at $8.00 for a one year individual membership.

To join, please complete the membership application you received in the welcome packet, enclose with your payment to the Adams PTA and return to your child’s classroom. Spouses are encouraged to join as well.

Additional donations are welcome and directly benefit students. The following are just a few of the ways...
classroom supplies, awards, programs and activities including assemblies, field trips, reading, music and fitness.

Two memberships are $16.00.

What is Scrip?

The easiest way you can help your school is to buy scrip. Shop where you shop today, buy what you always buy, but use our scrip to pay for your purchases and our school earns money every time you shop.

Here's How it Works

Scrip is a cash substitute. Instead of paying for your purchases with a check or cash you use a gift certificate. You receive dollar for dollar value. The donation is completely paid by the merchant, not you.

How Adams Elementary Benefits:

If you bought: $100.00 of QFC gift certificates (scrip)
You pay: $100.00
You receive: $100.00 in gift certificates (available in various denominations)
Adams pays QFC: $95.00
Adams makes: $5.00 profit for PTA

How Do I Get Started?

If you have never purchased scrip, please consider buying some. Scrip is sold in the office, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the morning from 8:45-9:15 and in the afternoon from 2:45-3:15. Orders can be called in during those times or dropped off and will be filled during the next sale time. Scrip will also be sold at PTA meetings and most school events. Completed order forms, with payment, may also be sent to school with your child. Pre-ordered scrip can be sent home with your child or picked up any time during office hours (with school secretary).

Use the link below to view and print an order form that lists the many stores and restaurants in this program. It's so easy to help and it costs you nothing extra.

Thank you for helping our kids. If you have any questions, please contact Carol Dunn.

How can I help?

You can help in many ways, by donating your time, treasure or talent.

  • If you are interested in volunteering, there are many committees to choose from. Check out our Volunteer page for a full list.

  • Monetary donations can be made to the PTA (all proceeds go to fund school projects and activities), or directly to Adams Elementary during the Direct Appeal or at other times throughout the year.

  • You can donate items or your talents to the Adams Annual Auction to raise money for the school. You can attend the auction, bid on and purchase items at the actual auction event. You can also bid on and purchase items on the auction website in the weeks preceeding the auction.

  • You can attend the Adams Carnival and support other fundraising activities throughout the year.

  • Are you thinking of selling or trading in your old car, boat, motorcycle, trailer, RV or property? Why not donate it instead? Avoid the headaches of expensive ads, receiving phone calls, and price haggling. You can designate that you would like any proceeds to go to the Adams PTA. For more information or to start the process, please visit www.nwdonationservice.com. You may also contact John Young, NW Charity Donation Service at 206-351-5002.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated and will greatly benefit the school. Adams relies on its parents and volunteers to help make it such a great school and community.
