Scholar Pledge

Preamble

I am proud to be a scholar at the African American Academy.
I will do everything I can do to bring honor and respect
to myself, my fellow scholars, the Academy staff,
my community, and my family.

Therefore, I promise to:

Follow all staff directions.
Respect myself and others.
Respect school and personal property.
Use school-appropriate language (no swearing, harassment,
threatening language or behavior).
Be on time and ready for school success.
Conduct myself as a Scholar at all times.

African American Academy
Scholar Creed

I am a winner of excellence in every way.
What I can think, I can write, I can read, and I can say.

I will always say "YES" to right.

I will always say "NO" to wrong.

With all others I will try to get along.
Respect I'll give -- respect I'll learn.

I know that I come to the Academy to learn. There are some things no one can take from me:
My pride, my self-discipline, and my awesome dignity!

I will do my best to excel in every way:
