Overview
The District’s Capital Projects and Planning staff is working with the newly formed Facilities and Capacity Management Advisory Committee (FACMAC) to identify and help solve the District’s short-intermediate-and long-term facilities challenges. FACMAC is comprised of a volunteer group of community members representing all regions of the city -and with diverse specialties and interests in educational programs, special services (special needs) capacity, demographics and urban geography.
The committee will advise and provide input to District staff as they evaluate facility planning activities and implementation of various facilities plans.
Staff and FACMAC are beginning an accelerated, yet thorough, process over the next three months that will culminate in a capacity management plan for the 2012-2013 school year, to be recommended for Board adoption.
The Capital Projects and Planning staff held three community engagement meetings to review the District’s capacity management issues and challenges and ask for public feedback on October 4, 6 and 11, 2011.
All relevant capacity, enrollment and demographics comments, input and suggestions will be considered by staff and the Committee as they work together to identify and help solve the short term capacity management issues. The Committee will then address intermediate and long term issues in the future.
Capacity Management planning materials, documents and presentation handouts are being posted and updated on this site.
