Ten schools to compete April 2 in Global Reading Challenge City Final
Ten schools will compete April 2 to determine who will be Seattle's 4th- and 5th-grade champion readers. The Global Reading Challenge City Final will be held 7-9 pm. at the Central Seattle Public Library.
The ten schools and their team names who will be advancing to the City Final (out of the 45 schools that participated) are:

• John Hay - Smart Mustaches
• John Muir - Bookettes
• Hawthorne - Huskies
• Leschi - Awesome Readers
• Loyal Heights - Unknowns
• Northgate - Bomb.com Readers
• Orca - Rise of the Readers
• Stevens - Onopmatopoeia
• Thurgood Marshall - Fire Breathing Chickens
The Global Reading Challenge is a Battle of the Books program for 4th- and 5th-graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools. The program encourages children to have fun and enjoy reading. After reading 10 books, children participate in semi-final and city final rounds of a "Quiz Bowl" game to determine Seattle's champion team.
