Volunteers invited to participate in 10-week Family Connectors training
Seattle Public Schools is inviting volunteers to participate in a 10-week training program designed to provide families with skills and knowledge to strengthen school-family partnerships in schools.
The District's Office of School Family Partnerships will oversee the training and facilitation of this program, in partnership with Seattle University.
The primary goals of this Family Connectors University are to build the capacity of Seattle Public Schools families to work as equal partners in the education of their children and to advocate effectively for their students, their school communities and the District.
The Family Connectors University will also help establish well-trained family liaisons/mentors throughout the District to strengthen meaningful school-family partnerships that increase student success.
Participants will attend ten weeks of trainings each Wednesday, from Feb. 6 through April 10, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Seattle University’s Pigott Building Classroom 306.
