Dec. 14 public tribute planned for Dr. Goodloe-Johnson in South Carolina;
Book of memories, photos being compiled for the family
Dear Seattle Public Schools community,
We are writing to let you know that a public tribute for Dr. Maria Goodloe-Johnson will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14 at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Ave. N. in Charleston, South Carolina. Private services for the family will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15.
Dr. Goodloe-Johnson, who served as Seattle’s Superintendent from 2007-2010, passed away on Dec. 5 after a long battle with cancer. Our deepest sympathies go to her husband, Bruce, their daughter, Maya, and her step-daughter, Brittany.
In lieu of flowers, Dr. Goodloe-Johnson’s family requests that donations be made to:
