Electronic Professional Development (ePD)
Overview
Electronic professional development (ePD) utilizes new communication tools and online platforms to provide convenient, cost-effective training solutions for adult learners.
- ePD improves access to professional development by providing staff the flexibility of completing online courses on their own time and at their own pace
- ePD allows synchronous and on-demand connectivity and electronic participation tracking
- ePD can enhance training effectiveness by utilizing internal and external expertise, easy access to supporting resources and access to collaborative learning communities
Services
We provide technical support for emerging technologies used in online education. This could be anything from full multi-camera video taped training to adding narration to a PowerPoint. We can help take your content and create an online training or presentation.
Custom Online Courses
The ePD staff can help you design and deliver custom online courses to support your department, program or school’s professional development goals.
To learn more about custom ePD options (and costs) contact us or stop by the Media Operations Center (aka “TV Studio) located on the 3rd floor of the John Stanford.
DIY (Do It Yourself) ePD
There are a variety of no-cost (or low cost) ePD solutions available. (These are “DIY” and not supported by ePD staff. Some require advanced technical skills and can be time-intensive to create, some are very simple to use.)
