Seattle Public Schools Superintendent José Banda on Wednesday, Nov. 14 will give a 30-minute overview on the State of the District between 6:30 and 7 p.m., at the John Stanford Center auditorium. The Superintendent will also have a question-and-answer period between 7 and 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
The 2012 State of the District will report on Seattle Public Schools successes and challenges, and the District’s strategies for moving forward. This presentation will include highlights of the District Scorecard and individual School Reports.
The District Scorecard shows year-to-year growth, graduation rates, attendance and reading, science and math proficiency.
Also, families and schools will receive their School Reports on Nov. 1, which provide a snapshot of how each of our schools is doing academically. These reports provide staff, families and the community with data that showed how each school is performing, where the school is excelling and where improvement is needed.
