Three teachers honored as 'Symetra Heroes in the Classroom'
Symetra and the Seattle Seahawks honored three teachers recently as “Symetra Heroes in the Classroom” for their educational excellence.
• Patricia Magnusson, left photo, a first-grade teacher at Loyal Heights Elementary, was honored Sept. 5 during a back-to-school assembly and at the Sept. 16 game when the Seahawks played the Dallas Cowboys. More
• Julie Parker, center photo, a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at McGilvra Elementary, was honored Sept. 14, during a school assembly and at the Sept. 24 game when the Seahawks played the Green Bay Packers. More
• Brooke Freeburg, right photo, a special education teacher at Stevens Elementary, was honored Sept. 14, during a school assembly and at the Sept. 24 game when the Seahawks played the Green Bay Packers. More
Magnusson, Parker and Freeburg are part of the 24 K-12 teachers across the Puget Sound area who will be honored for educational excellence in the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom program during the 2012 NFL season.
Teachers are recognized in front of their students and peers at surprise in-school presentations, and they receive a $1,000 donation for classroom books and supplies. In addition, they receive tickets to a Seahawks home game and are acknowledged during an on-field presentation at CenturyLink Field.
