How to Apply-Certificated Positions
Dear Seattle Public Schools Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in Seattle Public Schools.
The General Certificated Application (GCA) is no longer required. Materials and/or documents that you submitted for the GCA must be uploaded to each certificated position in which you apply. You may apply to certificated positions in which you are highly qualified based upon your Washington State teacher/ESA endorsements and/or NCLB requirements. Current open positions may be found on our website: www.seattleschools.org/careers. When you apply for a position, please review the “Required Attachments” to ensure that you have all materials submitted by the closing date/time.

Certificated positions require Washington State certification. These positions include, but are not limited to:
- Teacher
- Nurse
- Dean of Students
- Drug/Alcohol Intervention Specialist
- Audiologist
- Academic Intervention Specialist
- Occupational Therapist
- Physical Therapist
- Guidance Specialist
- Counselor
- Librarian
- Social Worker
- Mental Health Services Program Case Manager
- Psychologist
Steps to Apply
We recommend you start the process of applying to Seattle Public Schools as early as possible. Please know that failure to fully complete an application could result in that application not being considered.
- Read the documents that guide you through our online application system:
- Make sure you have or are in the process of obtaining the proper certification. Visit the website for the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for specific information on how to certify in Washington State. You will not be able to start employment until you have the proper certificate.
- Fill out an online Job Interest Card to receive automatic e-mail alerts once positions are available.
