Sept. 6, 2012 | Audience: Families, Community, Staff | Contact: Communications (206) 252-0200

The Seattle K-12 Arts Learning Collaborative will share a report Sept. 27 on the progress of a comprehensive K-12 arts plan designed to increase quality learning opportunities for all Seattle Public Schools students.

Arts CorpsThe evening will include Wing Luke Elementary students performing a dance number and Superintendent José Banda giving some remarks.

The goal of the collaborative is to ensure all Seattle Public Schools students have opportunities to learn through the arts, helping them to be successful in school and in life.

Last spring, many in the community shared their vision for a new arts plan in a series of community focus-group meetings. The School District released a report with findings from those meetings.

Find out more about the progress of the plan and the important role the arts play in building 21st-century skills at the mid-point meeting.

Children are welcome. Free supervised arts activities for school-aged children will be provided. Space for children's arts workshop is limited.
