Whitman Middle School teacher wins screenwriting award for third straight year
Christopher King, a media literacy/TV production teacher at Whitman Middle School, has won a screenwriting award for the third year in a row in the 2012 Pacific Northwest Writers Association's Literary Contest.
King placed second for his script, "The Tina Modotti Project," co-written with Mexican cinematographer Gabriel Beristain about the amazing life story of artist and political activist Tina Modotti, who died in 1942 at the age of 46.
In 2011, King won second place for his script, "Little America," and in 2010, he won first place for "Jade."
His students have consistently won regional and state awards in video contests and film festivals.
