April 10, 2012 | Audience: Families, Community, Staff | Contact: Communications, (206) 252-0200

Eight student leaders from Denny International Middle School joined other Seattle-area teen scholars April 7 at the Youth Town Hall, to get up close and personal with Seattle Mayor McGinn, Seattle Council President Sally Clark, and Councilmembers Sally Bagshaw, Tom Rasmussen, Nick Licata, and Tim Burgess.

The Youth Town Hall is an annual event hosted by the Seattle Youth Commission. The event will be aired on the Seattle Channel.

• 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 19.

The eight-student Denny delegation took time out of their weekend to attend the event and showed remarkable leadership in connecting with Seattle civic leaders – asking questions during the Q&A session, then approaching Councilmembers to hear more about what these city leaders do to serve our great city.

The Denny Dolphins joined scholars from other Seattle middle and high schools to ask questions about educational funding, transportation, crime prevention, public safety and civic service.
