Graham Hill Elementary Chorus perform at King County Bar Association luncheon
The Graham Hill Elementary Chorus performed at the King County Bar Association’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Luncheon on Jan. 13, right photo. The event was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel.
This is the fourth year the chorus has performed at this event under the direction of Cherrie Adams, Graham Hill music specialist. The chorus led 750 King County lawyers and judges in singing “Lift Ev’ry Voice,” then performed two additional pieces.
The keynote speaker for the event was Ambassador Andrew Young, civil rights leader. The event has been on King County Television multiple times, giving chorus students and their families an opportunity to view their performance.
The chorus received an honorarium for their performance and an autographed copy of Andrew Young’s book “Walk In My Shoes: Conversations Between a Civil Rights Legend and His Godson on the Journey Ahead."
Upcoming performances for the Chorus include Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Discover Dance at McCaw Hall on March 24 and Graham Hill’s Spring Sing on April 12.
