Rotary Club of North Seattle names Jusef Haji, October Student of the Month; Saleena Green November Student of the Month
The Rotary Club of North Seattle selected Jusef Haji as its October Student of the Month and Saleena Green, as its November Student of the Month. Both attend Middle College High School at the Northgate Mall.
Jusef Haji
Middle College teacher Beth Brunton praised Jusef as a youth leader who had trouble with early school experiences - but when he came to Middle College (at the suggestion of a previous student of the month), he was given the personal instruction and help he needed.
Jusef, born in Somalia, was a track star who had injured himself and thus became interested in physical therapy. He plans to attend Bellevue Community College after graduation to study physical therapy.
Saleena Green
Jennifer Spigner, the Graduation Success Coordinator at Middle College, said Saleena has a calm presence and is a leader to many of the other students who turn to her for help and advice.
Saleena wants to go to college next year (she's waiting to hear which institutions have accepted her) and study Psychology toward the goal of counseling.
