Students invited to 'Explore Your Career' Nov. 19 at Seattle Center
Seattle Public Schools students and families will have an opportunity to meet representatives from a variety of career fields Nov. 19 at the "See it. Be it. Explore your Future Career" event at the Seattle Center.
Career exploration sessions will feature speakers who will share highlights of their work and provide students with interactive, hands-on opportunities to learn about a wide variety of occupations.
The event will highlight six sectors of the economy:

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
-
Arts & Design
-
Service sector
-
Sports and Wellness
-
Trades
-
Business and Entrepreneurship.
The event is sponsored by the Seattle College Access Network (SCAN) a coalition of locally based access organizations, including Seattle Public Schools, community organizations, and funding and advocacy groups.
SCAN's goal is to ensure that all students in Seattle Public Schools have access to information about college and career, assistance in completing financial aid forms, and other opportunities to learn about post-secondary career and secondary options.
