Capital Projects staff, new advisory committee work to help solve capacity and enrollment issues
The District’s Capital Projects and Planning staff is working with the newly formed Facilities and Capacity Management Advisory Committee to identify and help solve the District’s short-, intermediate- and long-term facilities challenges.
District staff and committee members are beginning an accelerated, yet thorough, process over the next three months that will culminate in a capacity management plan for the 2012-13 school year, to be recommended for Board adoption.
The committee advises and provides input to District staff as they evaluate facility planning activities and implementation of various facilities plans.
The committee is composed of a volunteer group of community members representing all regions of the city. Members have diverse specialties and interests in educational programs, special services (special needs) capacity, demographics and urban geography.
As they work together to identify and help solve capacity management issues, the staff and committee will consider all relevant capacity, enrollment and demographics comments, input and suggestions. The committee will then address intermediate- and long-term issues in the future.
