Roxhill fourth-grade teacher recognized as 'Hero in the Classroom' for teaching excellence
Teresa Klein, a fourth-grade teacher at Roxhill Elementary School, received Symetra Financial’s “Heroes in the Classroom” award for October. The community program recognizes 24 Seattle-area teachers for excellence in the classroom and for outstanding leadership and instructional skills during the Seattle Seahawks season.
Roxhill Principal Carmela Dellino said Klein has the energy, determination, poise, compassion, patience, skill and relentless drive that are the hallmarks of a master teacher.
“She is a gifted and masterful teacher, bringing the joy of learning and the gift of foundational knowledge and skills to all her students. From the moment you enter her classroom, you know you have entered a classroom that enriches students’ intellectual, creative, artistic, and emotional lives,” she said.
For being named a “Hero,” Klein will receive:
• two tickets to a Seahawks regular season game;
• an in-game HawkVision (JumboTron) spotlight;
• a VIP sideline experience;
• a “Heroes” award certificate and classroom supplies; and
• a school visit and program-sponsor recognition.
