*Administered to grades 1-7 if MAP scores are at the 85th percentile or higher. The qualifying threshold remains at the 87th percentile. The entire profile will be considered for MAP scores that are at the 85th or 86th percentile. 8th graders applying for the APP/IB at Ingraham must have MAP scores at the 95th percentile or higher. If there are no Spring 2012 MAP scores (e.g., kindergarten or non-SPS students), the CogAT is administered first. (See WAC 392-170-050 Screening of nominees). Scores are general break points and not absolute qualifiers or disqualifiers. Teacher input is strongly considered.
**The Woodcock-Johnson Achievement Test (grades K-1) or the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (grades 2-8) will be administered to students with no MAP scores if CogAT scores are at the 87th percentile or higher (98th percentile for 8th graders).
***Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch or who are English Language Learners, who demonstrate cognitive ability in at least one out of three areas, and who have strong teacher/educator input, may receive additional cognitive testing and may also receive additional reading and math achievement testing in the academic area in which they did not meet the performance threshold. (Washington Administrative Code (WAC) Sections 392-170-065 and 392-170-060 focused on nondiscrimination in the use of tests and nondiscrimination in the review of test results.)
