A message from the Superintendent

Good morning:

Today I am pleased to announce the appointment of Noel Treat as Interim Deputy Superintendent.

Noel, who is currently General Counsel, will serve in the Deputy role until June 30. He will provide invaluable assistance to me in addressing the enormous amount of work we need to complete before the end of the school year, including our re-organization and transition efforts.

Ron English will serve as acting General Counsel during this time.

Noel brings more than 15 years of experience in the management, policy and legal issues facing government agencies. Prior to joining Seattle Public Schools in 2010, he served as Chief of Staff for the King County Executive and Chief of Staff at Seattle City Light and was also the deputy director for the King County Facilities Department. In addition, he was a section head at the King County Prosecutor’s Office and has served as the city attorney for several jurisdictions.
