Lesley Rogers

Chief Communications Officer

Ms. Rogers joined Seattle Public Schools in 2011. She oversees the communications department, which develops and delivers information to families, teachers, staff, media and the community. The department includes family engagement, media relations and website/e-newsletter content and distribution.

Rogers has 15 years of experience in communications, including a decade as a journalist. Before joining the District, she was Vice President of Communications for Strategies 360, a public affairs firm in Seattle. While at Strategies 360, Rogers oversaw strategic communications for a variety of issues, including communications-related professional development for teachers and educators.

Rogers has a master’s degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a bachelor’s in journalism and political science from Northern Illinois University. She is a proud graduate of Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Wisconsin, a district where both her parents were teachers.

In her free time, Rogers enjoys visiting family and spending time with friends in Seattle, preferably on a hike or a bike during the day, and watching live music at night.
