Pegi McEvoy
Assistant Superintendent of Operations
Since joining Seattle Public Schools in 1986, Ms. McEvoy has held a variety of positions including School Nurse, Manager of Safety and Security and Director of Health and Safety. She was appointed to her current role in August.
A member of the Washington State School Safety Center Advisory Committee, she speaks nationally on topics that include school emergency management, bullying, youth violence, threat assessment, pandemic influenza planning, adult sexual misconduct and playground safety. She has also been a consultant to the Department of Education, National Institute of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Institutes of Medicine of the National Academies, and the Center for Disease Control.
McEvoy graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a M.N. in Child Adolescent Mental Health Nursing. Through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, she is board certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. She is also board certified by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress in Emergency Crisis Response.
The proud parent of two adult sons, McEvoy is excited to be the “Mother of the Groom” this September. She is also an avid quilter.
