A message from the Superintendent

April 5, 2011

Hello everyone,

I want to start by thanking you for your professionalism and focus over the past several weeks. This has a been a trying time for us all, and I know the cuts we have made at central office have made it even more difficult. As you are well aware, there are still some unknowns as we await the final budget from Olympia. I promise we will communicate with you as soon as we have definitive information. I also promise to be more visible throughout central office, visiting different departments each week to check in and hear how we might be doing things differently.

I know with all of the changes in personnel at central office many of you are experiencing a mix of emotions--from sadness to frustration to uncertainty and confusion. I wish I could do more right away to alleviate these feelings. I do want to assure you, however, that I am working with my Superintendent's Leadership Team to develop a revised draft organizational chart that I hope to share with you next week. We are also working to find a permanent CFO and COO and as those individuals come on board I will introduce them to you. In the meantime, I urge you to approach your direct supervisor or me with any questions or concerns you have.

As difficult as things are right now, I maintain a tremendous level of hope in what we can achieve as a central office team. It is my privilege to serve as your leader and I thank you for all that you do on behalf of our 47,000 students and their families.

Sincerely,

Susan Enfield's Signature
