Garfield student honored with volunteerism award
Mandy Kwan, a senior at Garfield High School, was honored March 16 with the Violet Richardson Award – given to women ages 14-17 for their outstanding leadership and volunteerism in the community. Kwan volunteers with the Atlantic Street Center. The award was sponsored by Soroptimist International of Seattle Metropolitan, an international service organization of business and professional women whose projects benefit women and girls locally and internationally. Kwan and the Atlantic Street Center each received $500.
