West Seattle automotive student qualifies for state competition
Phi Hoang, an Automotive Technology student and senior from West Seattle High School, finished second and won a Silver Medal at the Skills USA Regional competition this month at Sno-Isle Skill Center, Everett. Hoang won the medal in the Auto Service/Advanced competition and qualified for State competition in Yakima this spring. The state winner receives a $34,000 scholarship to Universal Technical Institute, and moves on to Finals in Missouri, in August.
Jonathan Delgado Quintana, a senior (Service), and Michael Sullivan, a sophomore (Maintenance), both competed in their perspective categories and finished in the top ten of competing students.
