Grant helps Beacon Hill International support Nicaragua sister-school with technology, computers

February 24, 2011 | Audience: Families, Community, Staff | Contact: Communications, (206) 252-0200

A $5,000 grant from the Seattle International Foundation is allowing Beacon Hill International to provide continuing support of computers, technical training and equipment to its sister school in Balgue, Nicaragua. The grant compliments a recent $2,500 gift from a donor that was used to help the Nicaragua school build a transmission tower to receive Internet signals. Susie Murphy, principal of Beacon Hill International, said the project builds closer relationships between colleagues, students and families in Nicaragua and Beacon Hill International.
