Family and Community Engagement Symposium scheduled for March 12 at Ballard High School

February 17, 2011 | Audience: Families, Community | Contact: Communications, (206) 252-0200

Seattle Public Schools is holding its Family and Community Engagement Symposium March 12 at Ballard High School, where families can get information and resources on early learning, math, apprenticeships, college readiness and more. Seattle Public Schools is committed to preparing all students for graduation – ready for college, careers and life. An important component of this commitment is strengthening family and community engagement Districtwide through sponsorship of seminars and workshops, such as the Family and Community Engagement Symposium.

The goal of the symposium is to provide learning opportunities to support Seattle Public Schools' families and community members and to be critical partners in their students' academic success. At the symposium, families will be able to attend workshops and learn how to help support student academic achievement at home, school, and around the community. Resource tables will include Seattle Public Library, Alliance for Education, Title I, Health Services, Service Learning, and Seattle Parks and Recreation.

Please click here for the March 12 workshop schedule. For more information, contact Bernardo Ruiz, Family Engagement Manager, at (206) 252-0693. Flyers are available in English, Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, and Chinese languages.
