Science Materials Center
The Science Material Center (SMC) supports Prek-12 science inquiry instruction in Seattle Public Schools and select other districts/schools. We provide units and modules and their supporting materials to implement the adopted PreK-8 curriculum, with limited support for high schools.

The following modules are available and are provided to support Elementary and Middle School science instruction.

We have moved to a 3 rotation schedule for the coming 2012-2013 school year. If you have questions about your school's rotation please contact the SMC Supervisor, Aaron Reed at 206-764-4040.

Change in your Personal Information
If your school, grade level assignment, last name, etc. are changing, or you're retiring/taking a leave of absence, please let the SMC know. You can email the information directly to the SMC or use this form.
Science Stories Books
The Ecosystems, Food Chemistry, Microworlds, Circuits and Pathways, and Liquids units come with a set of Science Stories, which are written for the unit and support literacy. The Stories come in a separate box, and must be returned in the box. Please don't return them inside your kit. We have to immediately send the books back out and cannot readily remove them from the hundreds of kits coming in.
Science Notebooks
The science notebooks will only be automatically sent to you with your fall kit. If you require additional journals please email your request to the SMC.
